Note, all standard litre prices are those quoted by www.milkprices.com and are based on the following:
The liquid standard litre 4% bf, 3.3% protein, 30,000/ml Bactoscans, 200,000/ml SCC, 1 million litres a year on EODC but before seasonality, monthly profile payments, balancing, B price additions, capital retentions or annual incentive schemes. The manufacturing standard litre is to exactly the same specification with the exception of 4.2%bf and 3.4% protein.

Arla have today announced a table topping 3.03ppl milk price increase on its liquid standard litre price taking members price to 35.29ppl. The market the retailers and FFA protests

Spot milk is trading today at 44 to 46ppl however relatively small quantities are changing hands.   There are reports of retailers and some convenience chains beating their chests and flatly refusing to consider claims from processors for cost inflation price increases. One meeting allegedly took 4 minutes and was basically a NO.  Another ended up with a retailer threatening to delist all the processors branded products.

The retailers and dairy customers are playing Russian Roulette with FFA

Numerous processors are comenting both privately and openly along the lines of “we have still not recovered our milk price increases from all customers as of today… I am sure you can imagine the challenges that we are currently facing and getting price increases from supermarket customers is not straight forward”.   Well out of hibernation steps David Handley and FFA who are now considering manning the protest/picket lines in December.
