This results in a liquid standard litre price of 38.85ppl

GDT eases for the first time in 2022

Tuesdays GDT Auction result saw a run of 5 consecutive increases come to an end as the overall average dipped by 0.9% to average US $5039. The drop came as a surprise to most and the expectation is that this is likely to be a one off with few if any anticipating a further drop at the next auction. The tonnage sold was 23,348 tonnes (25,208 tonnes two weeks earlier) with 109 (112 last time) winning bidders out of 177 (176 last time) registered bidders.

1ppl milk price increase for suppliers to Braeforge (Pensworth Liquid) – from 1st April

This takes producers liquid standard litre price to 37ppl including the 1ppl Pensworth Herd Health Scheme Supplement.

2.8ppl milk price increase for suppliers to Joesph Heler (cheese) – from 1st April

This increases producers manufacturing standard litre price to approximately 37.8ppl

This increases the standard liquid litre price to 38ppl.

1.75ppl milk price increase for suppliers to Crediton Dairy (Liquid) – from 1st April

This is an additional 1.25ppl on top of the 0.5ppl previously announced by Crediton and takes its producers standard liquid litre price to 36.75ppl.

This increases the standard liquid litre price to 36ppl.

OMSCO milk pricing for April and beyond is in the spotlight.

Last Fridays posting of the OMSCO 1ppl milk price increase for April, May and June 2022 caused a tsunami of emails from OMSCO members some of whom were puzzled at the calculations with others close to volcanic. The main source of tension revolves around the 31.25ppl April, May and June 2021 OMSCo milk price and the claim by OMSCo that April, May and June 2022 farmgate milk prices had increased by 1ppl to 32.

This increases producers standard liquid litre price to 37.8ppl

2ppl milk price increase for suppliers to North Lakes Foods Ltd (Liquid) – from 1st April

This increases producers standard liquid litre price to 37ppl. Note in addition to this 37p standard litre price Ian understands the majority (50% plus) of North Lakes suppliers receive bonuses for example the North Lakes loyalty bonus, which should be added to this figure for comparing its farmgate price with its peers.
