Müller launches innovative organic programme for supplying farmers

Müller UK & Ireland is placing long-term supply chain resilience at the heart of a new organic milk offering, which it has developed in partnership with its retail partners. As shopper demand for organic milk continues to increase, the dairy company has created a tailored organic offering, within its existing Müller Advantage programme, designed to drive security of supply by reinvigorating and protecting the long-term viability of its 60 organic dairy suppliers.

First Milk June 2025 Milk Price

First Milk Limited has announced that its milk price for a standard manufacturing litre will reduce from 1st June 2025 by 0.5 pence per litre (ppl) to 44.85ppl, including the member premium. Commenting on the announcement, Mike Smith, farmer director and vice chairman, said: “After a period of relative stability, where we have held our milk price since December 2024, we now, unfortunately, need to make a reduction for 1st June to reflect a change in overall returns.

Barbers June milk price – No change @ 45.08ppl

In their May Newsletter Barbers announced. we are pleased to be able to declare a seventh consecutive month of a milk price in excess of 45ppl* for June 2025. Arla’s milk price will remain unchanged for May 2025 for conventional and organic milk

The Arla milk price for conventional milk will remain unchanged from 1st May 2025. The liquid standard litre price is 46.04ppl for conventional milk and 55.62ppl for organic milk, based on 4% fat and 3.3% protein (as defined by milk prices.com) In their latest press release, Arla said: “Global milk supplies are increasing slightly. Barbers May Milk Price – No change @ 45.08ppl

In their April Newsletter Barbers announced. We are pleased to report a milk price hold for May milk supplies, May typically the UK’s largest milk production month of the year. Arla’s milk price will remain unchanged for April 2025 for conventional and organic milk

Press release from Arla – 31.03.2025 The Arla milk price for conventional milk will remain unchanged from 1st April 2025 however, the quarterly currency exchange rate adjustment negatively impacts the Headline price in GBP by 0.25 ppl. Thus, the Arla Headline price for conventional milk will be 48.02ppl. 2ppl Milk Price reduction for suppliers to Freshways – from 1st May

This reduction will result in a liquid standard litre price of 40ppl. Please see below the Business Update sent out today from Freshways: "As we have been monitoring milk production and associated business costs over the past few months, we have observed that the current volume of milk being produced does not allow us to maintain our existing price for raw milk.

MMG Dairy Farmers Ltd Board Appointments

Dairy farmers Ray Gibbins and Fraser Jones have been elected by the MMG Forum to serve from 1st April 2025 on the MMG Dairy Farmers Board (MMG) for a three-year term of office. The appointments are in addition to four Board Members who continue to serve on the Board. Together, the Board of six work with a 17 strong MMG Farmer Forum to represent over 1200 producers supplying fresh milk to Müller Milk and Ingredients.

First Milk holds May milk price

First Milk has today announced from 27th March, 2025 that its milk price will be held from May 1, 2025. This means its price will remain at 45.35ppl for its manufacturing standard litre, including the member premium. Commenting on the announcement, Mike Smith, farmer director and vice chairman, said: “Dairy market signals are mixed on both price and volume, while our solid business performance has allowed us to maintain stability in our price.

1.02ppl milk price reduction for Barber’s (cheese) from April

The reduction results in a standard liquid litre price of 45.08ppl In their March Newsletter Barbers announced, “For the first time in 18 months, we need to declare a decrease in our milk price of -1ppl at Barber’s Standard Litre”. “When we met at our farmer meetings here at site back in December, at that time, the dairy markets were in disarray and UK milk supply was breaking records on a daily basis.
