Note, all standard litre prices are those quoted by www.milkprices.com and are based on the following:
The liquid standard litre 4% bf, 3.3% protein, 30,000/ml Bactoscans, 200,000/ml SCC, 1 million litres a year on EODC but before seasonality, monthly profile payments, balancing, B price additions, capital retentions or annual incentive schemes. The manufacturing standard litre is to exactly the same specification with the exception of 4.2%bf and 3.4% protein.

Today’s announcement from Arla Arla to stand on for April milk price for conventional and increase for organic milk

From 1 April 2024, the Arla on-account price for conventional milk will remain unchanged and organic milk will increase in the UK by 1.34 ppl (1.5 €c/kg.)   This month we will see the quarterly currency adjustment negatively impact the on-account price by 0.04ppl, which means the UK manufacturing price for conventional milk and organic milk will be 40.02ppl and 48.

Resulting in an increase to 39ppl based on the manufacturing litre price (4.2% fat and 3.4% protein) for a 1mltr/yr producer.

Barbers announce milk price increase of 0.52ppl from 1st of April

Resulting in a standard litre price of 38.72ppl.   Barbers noted in their March Newsletter “An April increase in milk price is unusual. According to our records this is only the second ever increase recorded for any April, as this month typically records our highest milk supply per day within the year!”.

Organic Herd seeks more Members as milk price increases to 50ppl

Organic Herd, the British farmer-owned co-operative dedicated to organic dairy, has announced a further 0.5ppl increase in its Member milk price effective from 1st April 2024.  The increase will take the Organic Herd price to 50ppl on a standard litre basis and follows a similar 0.5ppl rise implemented for March.

PRESS RELEASE From Arla released today (Wednesday 28th February 2024)

Milk price for March 2024 will increase for conventional and organic milk. From 1 March 2024, the Arla on-account price for both conventional and organic milk will increase by 1.0 €c/kg for March 2024. This means the UK manufacturing price for conventional and organic milk will be 40.06ppl and 47.38ppl respectively.
