Note, all standard litre prices are those quoted by www.milkprices.com and are based on the following:
The liquid standard litre 4% bf, 3.3% protein, 30,000/ml Bactoscans, 200,000/ml SCC, 1 million litres a year on EODC but before seasonality, monthly profile payments, balancing, B price additions, capital retentions or annual incentive schemes. The manufacturing standard litre is to exactly the same specification with the exception of 4.2%bf and 3.4% protein.

This increase producers www.milkprices.com manufacturing standard litre price to 29.3ppl and based a liquid standard litre to 28.55ppl.

This results in a www.milkprices.com liquid standard litre price on producers A litres of 28.25ppl and based on a manufacturing standard litre 28.88ppl.

The increases are split into 2 x 1ppl coming on the 1st June and 1st July (unless something unforeseen happens). This takes producers www.milkprices.com liquid standard litre price to 28ppl (June) and 29ppl (July).

2.5ppl (revised) milk price increase for suppliers to Freshways from 1st July

Freshways have improved on their previous commitment to increase producers milk price from July 1st by 1.5ppl to 2.5ppl. Freshways cut producers milk price by 1ppl from March 1st reducing its liquid standard price to only 26ppl. The 2.5ppl will increase Freshways www.milkprices.com liquid standard litre price to 28.5ppl but not until 1st July which won’t hit farmers bank accounts until August.

Average farmgate milk price pay-out for March was 29.72ppl

This is the DEFRA figure based on the average price paid into farmers bank accounts and Not based on a standard litre. The February price was 29.93ppl.

GDT Auction average holds at nearly a 7 Year high

The significant gains recorded in February and March in the fortnightly GDT Auction continue to more or less hold despite the fact Tuesday’s auction did record a slight fall in its average price by 0.7% to average US $4162 tonne.

96% fall in UK milk and Cream exports to the EU in February

It’s a staggering figure released by the UK food and Drink Federation and means in January and February exports of food to the EU were down by £1.1 billion with dairy and met hardest hit. Sales of milk and cream were down 96.4% with cheese exports down 64.4% in the month of February compared to a year earlier. Exporting dairy products to the EU is definitely not for the faint hearted.
