1.6ppl milk price reduction for Wyke Farms from 1st October

This results in a standard liquid litre price of 36.106ppl.

 

Wyke Farms statement:

Unfortunately, while holding our milk price unchanged since July, commodity dairy markets both domestic, EU and globally have come under increasing price pressure this summer from which cheddar and whey markets have not been immune. AHDB report that in the last 3mths mild cheddar values have declined by £230/t (-6.5%) while whey milk powder prices are down £55/t (-6.6%). Furthermore, as demand across most dairy product sectors remains what can be best described as subdued, ex-farm milk supply continues to run at higher levels yr on yr. As a result of weaker returns from commodities, milk otherwise destined for these markets is already starting to find its way into cheese manufacturing.
