1 euro cent/kg (0.56ppl) milk price increase for Arla members – from 1st October

This increase applies to Arla conventional members with its Organic price standing on at 55.69ppl a difference of only 4.78ppl. The increase would have been 0.88ppl were it not for the exchange rate quarterly adjustment which has negatively impacted to the tune of 0.33ppl on both Conventional and Organic members.
The 1st October prices are as follows:
Standard Litre Conventional Organic
Manufacturing 50.91ppl (+0.56) 55.69ppl (-0.32)
Liquid 48.96ppl (+0.54) 53.57ppl (-0.30)
This latest movement puts the Arla liquid standard litre as near as dam it at 49ppl which will be a positive move welcomed by processors already paying 49 to 50ppl plus.
However, it will likely be unwelcome news and concern for others who are currently paying 48ppl, or in some cases less, from the 1st October who will now need to have an immediate reassessment of their farmgate price.
