Other words used to describe this increase include significant and seismic as Arla push its members May 1st manufacturing farmgate prices well over 43ppl and for organic members very close to 50ppl.

In the press release it states “The outlook is positive” which Ian interprets as Arla confirming further farmgate milk prices are expected in the near future.
In addition, the release points to very strong mozzarella and yellow cheese demand particularly for exports which will be a boost to farmers supplying processors in these markets.
“In Europe it is very clear situation, everything is increasing and availability is very low for all powder types” Reference is also made to recent reductions in New Zealand powders (GDT) which is a result of Chinese Covid lockdowns.
