GDT continues to break records with a 5.1% average rise

Tuesdays GDT Auction clocked up a 5.1% increase on the results achieved only two weeks ago which in itself was up 4.2%.

The auction average was US $5065 tonne which sets a GDT all-time record which previously stood at $5042 tonne set in February 2014.

Averages for both cheddar and butter were both all-time highs smashing the previous records set only two weeks ago.

The tonnage sold was 25,208 (27,726 tonnes two weeks ago) with 112 winning bidders out of 176 potential bidders.

 

Notable price movements were

Cheddar   + 10.9% to average $6,394 tonne

Butter       + 5.9% to average $7086 tonne

WMP         + 5.7% to average $4757 tonne

SMP           + 4.7% to average $4481 tonne
