Starbucks joins the Arla UK 360 programme

From the 1st January Nationwide coffee chain Starbucks will work with 14 Arla UK farmers in a 3-year sustainability blueprint pilot.

The pilot will attempt to identify “new farming” practices and industry leading methods to significantly reduce emissions associated with dairying.

Its all part of what is now a Nationwide effort to ensure food products are of high quality and utilize responsibly sourced products.

Some farmers will no doubt dismiss and poo poo such ideas but when the likes of Starbucks declare that 22% of their global emissions come from dairy only a dumb processor would fail to seize the opportunity to work with them to reduce their carbon emissions, reduce waste packaging and improve water management.
