Market Update ABMCVE and AMPE both jump to 36.56/36.57ppl

AMPE has jumped almost 3ppl to 36.57ppl in a month with MCVE up over 2ppl to 36.56ppl – see table above.

Cream prices have now broken the £2,000/tonne mark.

SMP, mild cheddar, butter and the rest are all heading North with very tight supplies and strong demand and it’s not limited to the UK

 

www.milkprices report a new record high for week ending 23rd October on its stonexmilkprices.com UKMFE forward curve at 39.52ppl resulting in a UKMFE net return to farmers of 35.54 (1 week ago 34.06ppl)

This means the record price has been smashed in the past three consecutive weeks and it’s rocking up in leaps and bounds this week +1.55ppl

Meanwhile according to DEFRAS latest figures UK milk output in September was down 4.0% compared to September 2020 with the average farmgate paid out milk price standing at 31.72ppl
