Posted on: 21/05/21

The Arla model continues to lead the upward movement in farmgate milk prices. This latest 0.5 eurocents increase results in a June manufacturing standard litre price of 33.23ppl and based on a liquid standard litre 31.98ppl.

The increase also applies to Arla’s organic suppliers taking their manufacturing standard litre price to 41.59ppl and 40.02ppl based on a liquid standard litre.

In its press release Arla amba Board Director Arthur Fearnall comments:

Once again, this will be welcome news for our farmer owners who are becoming increasingly pressured by rising on farm costs. Commodity market prices have overall remained relatively stable in April. Powder demand has been strong with increasing prices, while butter and cheese prices have weakened.  Overall, so far, European milk intake has been lower than last year; however, intake has started to pick up with a small increase through March and April. The current outlook remains stable.

On hearing the news of yet another Arla Milk Price increase one liquid processor’s representative simply commented “God Bless Arla” then used a couple of unprintable adjectives.
